4. Rings in Toes

You might have seen brides wearing rings on their fingers, but in some societies newly wedded women utilize their toes for this purpose. In some areas in Africa, an elderly woman is required to accompany the bride into her bedroom. Most of the times an elderly woman from the village does the job, but the mother is also allowed to do this for her daughter. It is still prevalent in some Gypsies cultures, in which if you succeed in kidnapping a girl and keep her with you for three days then she becomes your wife automatically and officially.
